I have emulated the "Jewish Mother" syndrom of applauding my children for every slight accomplishment, along with exposure to consideration for others and excellent manners. They are both successful professionals and family heads. The criticize me ruthlessley about every behavior I display. My realization is that their false accusations (negative suggestions) become an imprint on my behavior thereafter.
While in college my roomate would say every night before lights out, "Janine will never make it to our 8:00 class, ha ha". Just in fun, but since I had been judged, why the hell go?
The power of negative suggestion is one force I cannot combat. And it is nefarious.
